You were always there for us - picking up children from school, providing pizza on Thursdays, carrot tops for the rabbit and so much more. Rest in peace.

I can't believe you've gone, Mum, and we'll never hear your voice on the phone again or see you waiting for us at the airport. You gave me such a wonderful holiday the first time I came to Canada all alone in 1988; I have a very evocative album of photos and souvenirs. And the dogs came too - not many people emigrate to Canada with their pets, I suspect, but you devoted yourself to looking after Badger and Riz for as long as they lived. You were the most selfless person I have ever met, and I'll never forget you.

The few times I met you, you were always so kind. You welcomed me into your home when I visited Canada and were good company when visiting Victoria. You were much loved by all around you. Rest in peace.

You were so supportive during my sister's final illness, despite the fact you were so far away. I will always remember your thoughtfulness.

Thank you very much for coming to all my music concerts, awards ceremonies and Remembrance Day assemblies. You were so independant and full of life that I never imagined you might leave us. You were such a constant source of support in everything that Mel, Pet and I did that the gap you left may never close. I'll miss you, Grandma.

We celebrate your magnificence Carol. You were a kind, thoughtful, patient, loving and giving person. We were truly blessed by your presence in our life, always there to offer your help and never an unkind word or deed. We are sincerely grateful for the relationship we shared.

I'm so grateful that I even met you, even if I knew you more as Ek's Grandma than Caroline Todd. Nevertheless, I got to know you through the years as a selfless, and caring relative... a figure of never ending support and optimism. Even if I only got to know you indirectly through my best friend, I will always considering your presence in my life a blessing never to forget.

I have so many memories of Carole over 20+ years. Her stoical resolve in the face of (minor!) hardships on several long trip on "Alastor"- cold weather, odd engine fumes etc. Her kindness in buying food (and pizza!). Several outings to "Las Margaritas" the time she took Suz and I to see "Torville & Dean" at the PNE, Expo '87, helping rescue Suz's car after my accident on the bike at Whistler. Most of all her unchanging character and independence - it's hard to believe she is gone!
